Bellevue Walking Club LogoThe Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce is providing support to a new partnership between the Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging and Iowa Public Health to promote walking among senior citizens.

The Bellevue Walking Club will meet at the Bellevue Meal Site at 10am on Mondays and Thursdays from September 15 - October 23.

On Mondays the club will walk on the trail at Felderman Park and on Thursday the club will walk on the downtown Riverfront Trail.

Anyone completing all 12 walks will receive a free t-shirt!  For additional information, contact Karen Osar at the Bellevue Meal Site at 563-872-4666.

Walk to End AlzheimersWALK TO END ALZHEIMERS

The local Walk to End Alzheimers will take place in Maquoketa on Saturday, September 13, beginning at 9:15am at the YMCA and walking to the new Prairie Creek Park.

Greet customers as soon as they come into the store.

Encourage employees to walk around the store, and approach shoppers exhibiting suspicious behavior and ask if they need help. Compare notes with other store owners about any suspicious behaviors they may have witnessed.

Maintain a clean and organized store and install adequate lighting to maintain visibility throughout the store.

Keep commonly stolen items in plain view.

Never try to stop a shoplifter! If a shoplifter leaves the store, provide the police with a detailed description of the person, including the vehicle if possible.


Bellevue has submitted the necessary paperwork to be considered as the end point for RAGBRAI 2016.  

The 2016 route will be announced Saturday, January 24. Bellevue will not be hosting Ragbrai this year.
