TIPS TO PREVENT SHOPLIFTERS Say No to Shoplifting

Greet customers as soon as they come into the store.

Encourage employees to walk around the store, and approach shoppers exhibiting suspicious behavior and ask if they need help. Compare notes with other store owners about any suspicious behaviors they may have witnessed.

Maintain a clean and organized store and install adequate lighting to maintain visibility throughout the store.

Keep commonly stolen items in plain view.

Never try to stop a shoplifter! If a shoplifter leaves the store, provide the police with a detailed description of the person, including the vehicle if possible.
