Bellevue Arts and Festivals

Attending one of our many annual events is a great way to experience life along the Mississippi River.  Bellevue offers something for everyone, all year long.  Additional information, along with exact dates can be found in the Calendar.

Jackson County Pro Rodeo

The Jackson County Pro Rodeo takes place at the Bellevue Horsemen's Club outside of Bellevue each June.  It features rodeo action jammed packed with bucking bulls, horses, cowboys, and cowgirls.
Come early for the pre-show entertainment, shop the vendors, take a ride on the mechanical bull, or just enjoy some delicious food, then stay late to enjoy the live music in the barn with friends!

Bellevue Heritage Days Celebration

The Bellevue Heritage Days Celebration is an annual event celebrating the Fourth of July.  The activities are spread over three days and offer a variety of attractions over several venues.
The celebration begins in the evening with the Bellevue Heritage Days Queen Contest, carnival rides and a dance with live music, food and refreshments at Cole Park.
The second day starts off with the Heritage Days Parade through downtown ending at Cole Park, with carnival rides, games for children and adults, concessions, live music in the beer tent, a garden tractor pull, a show featuring antique tractors, and classic car and motorcycles and other entertainment.
Later that afternoon, the Ski Bellevue water ski team puts on a show just south of Lock and Dam #12, followed by The Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce drawing for a new car or $15,000 cash, and one of the largest and best fireworks displays in the area at dusk along the riverbank.
Fishtival Art Festival

In August, celebrate the arts at "Fishtival, a Celebration of Fish and the Mississippi River", sponsored by the Bellevue Arts Council & Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce.

Regional artists will have their work on display along Riverview Street throughout the day, then the Ski Bellevue water ski team will perform in the afternoon, followed by a street dance with live music, food and refreshments.

St. Joseph Parish Pork Roast

Rumored to be the largest pork roast in Iowa, the St. Joseph Parish Pork Roast takes place the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, with food, drinks, and entertainment provided all day.

Unwrap the Magic of Christmas

Kick off the holiday season the weekend after Thanksgiving.  On Saturday, attend the holiday craft fair, enjoy a warm meal at the Firemen's Chili Supper, then watch the fireworks along the river, followed by a lighted holiday parade.
